Our crew joined 10 Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation Balirt Biik Kuunh Team to deliver a half-day cultural burn at Arthurs Seat State Park.
This cultural burn was nominated and led by Balirt Biik Kuunh Team with support from Forest Fire Management Victoria and focussed on healing Country by supporting the growth of Murrung (yam daisy) – a culturally significant plant.
Cultural burning is a way for Traditional Owners to connect with Country and enables the learning and teaching of practices that are thousands of years old.
