We're celebrating recent cultural fire achievements.
In 2025, at Arthurs Seat State Park, the fire moved with purpose.
This cultural burn builds on work started in 2024, a continuation of care, guided by knowledge and connection to Country.
Delivered together by Bunurong Land Council and Forest Fire Management Victoria, it’s part of a larger story unfolding over time.
But this fire is different.

It’s not just about the land; it’s about the cultural significance of connecting with Country. Rare orchid species, along with culturally significant food, fibre and medicine plants are at the heart of this work. Every step is carefully planned to protect and support these important species.
This is cultural fire in action, thoughtful, deliberate and deeply connected to both ecology and culture.
By working alongside Traditional Owners, we’re helping ensure these values are protected and carried forward for future generations.
