Mental Health Continuum tool

Mental health isn’t a fixed state—it’s something we all experience along a shifting spectrum. Some days we feel focused, resilient, and optimistic; other days, stress or low energy can take over. Just as our physical health can fluctuate, so too can our mental wellbeing.

In the mental health continuum guide (PDF, 486.1 KB), we’ll explore what the MHC tool is, when to use it, and how it can help you stay in the healthiest possible headspace.

The Mental Health Continuum: A visual guide to mental wellbeing

The Mental Health Continuum is a practical, visual guide that helps individuals recognise shifts in their mental health. Spanning from 'feeling well' to 'feeling overwhelmed,' it highlights common signs across mood, physical health, thinking patterns, and behaviours.

This tool allows you to check in with yourself, communicate how you’re doing, and take informed steps, whether that’s self-care, connecting with others, or seeking professional support, to maintain or improve your mental wellbeing.

Family Connect and Support Program

The Wellbeing Resources Toolkit now includes resources from the Family Connect and Support Program. This program recognises the importance social support has in maintaining good mental health and wellbeing, particularly before, during, and after emergency deployments. The Family Support Program offers tailored resources and support to help families and workers navigate these challenges.
